MoU signed by Gazprom and NIGC

A working meeting between Alexander Medvedev (Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee) and Hamid Reza Araqi (Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of the Iranian National Gas Company) has recently been held in Tehran as part of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Iranian Commission on trade and economic co-operation.
National Iranian Gas Company is wholly owned by Iran's Oil Ministry. It is focused on natural gas treatment, transmission and marketing.
During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral co-operation in the energy industry.
Medvedev and Reza Araqi signed a Memorandum of Understanding that outlined potential areas of co-operation between the two companies. Specifically, the document envisages the establishment of joint working groups.
