Following the launch ceremony last week, the China-Russia East-Route Natural Gas Pipeline is officially in operation.
A ceremonial event marking the start of the first pipeline supplies of Russian gas to China via the eastern route – the Power of Siberia gas trunkline – took place on 2 December 2019.
The start-up and commissioning process is in its final stage, and the pipeline is scheduled to be brought into operation before the end of 2019.
Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, met to discuss their cooperation on 30 October in Budapest, Hungary.
Power of Siberia's linear part is thus ready for the commencement of Russian pipeline gas supplies to China.
The Court of Justice has annulled the European Commission’s decision giving Gazprom control of the OPAL gas pipeline.
