Russian energy giant, Gazprom, is currently pursuing a number of major oil and gas investment projects, such as the TurkStream pipeline, Power of Siberia trunk line and predevelopment of the Chayandinskoye field.

Nord Stream 2 has recently awarded an offshore pipelay contract to Allseas.

At a recent working meeting between Alexey Miller (Gazprom) and Rainer Seele (OMV), the parties discussed the crucial role that Nord Stream 2 will play and considered Russian gas supplies to Austria.

Between 1 February and 15 February, Gazprom’s exports to Germany increased by 37%.

At the European Gas Conference 2017, Gazprom’s Alexander Medvedev suggested that investment decisions need to be made in the continent. He Also noted that Nord Stream 2 is being implemented as planned.

Gazprom’s gas exports to Europe hit an all-time high for the gas industry in 2016, totalling 179.3 billion m3.

Nord Stream’s utilisation averaged 80% in 2016, with 43.8 billion m3 of gas transported to the European Union.

Gazprom’s management committee has considered and commended the progress made on the Nord Stream 2 project.
