World Pipelines,
National Energy Board (NEB) Chair, Peter Watson, arrived in Newfoundland on 1 February to continue his cross-Canada engagement initiative. To date, Watson has met with individuals and groups regarding the NEB's pipeline safety and environmental protection programmes in Nova Scotia and in New Brunswick. During his visit, Watson will continue his scheduled meetings as he fulfils his public commitment to the engagement initiative.
A small and diverse group of NEB staff and leadership, including the NEB Chair, Board members and staff will visit all Canadian provinces and the North to meet directly with interested groups, including municipal and provincial leaders and staff, First Nations organisations, environmental groups, first responders and academics. The NEB will all meet with a range of Canadian industry associations and professionals. In addition to meeting with Canadians from coast to coast to coast, the NEB's engagement initiative includes an online discussion forum, which is open to anyone who wants to share their views about pipeline safety and environmental protection.
