Welspun to supply line pipes for KXL

According to news sources, TransCanada Corp. has awarded Welspun Global Trade LLC (part of the US$2.3-billion Welspun Group) a contract for the supply of line pipes for the Keystone XL pipeline (KXL) project.

Welspun recently announced that the US Department of State has issued the company’s line pipe project in the US a presidential permit to begin work on the project.

The Economic Times cited a Welspun statement as declaring: “The department of state has signed and issued a presidential permit to construct the KXL pipeline project. The prestigious project is partnered by Welspun Global Trade to supply line pipes to TransCanada Corp.”

Rusty Fisher, Senior Vice President of Welspun Global Trade LLC, commented: “We welcome President Trump’s ratification of the KXL pipeline. The decision to revive the pipeline project will result in creating thousands of American jobs and will fulfill energy needs of the nation in addition to having a multiplier effect on the US economy.”

Welspun has completed its manufacturing obligations and is fully geared to meet any additional requirement of pipes as the project moves ahead, he also noted.
