Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. (PAA) has announced that it is set to expand the capacity of its Cactus pipeline from McCamey to Gardendale (Texas). With this expansion, the capacity of the 310 mile, 20 in. crude oil pipeline will rise to approximately 390 000 bpd.

The pipeline expansion will allow PAA to move increasing production volumes from the Permian Basin to Corpus Christi and other delivery points along the system. The development would include enhancements to PAA’s manifold and metering at its origination station, which are expected to be completed in 3Q17.

The Cactus pipeline transports crude oil from the Permian Basin to PAA and Enterprise Products Partners’ Eagle Ford joint venture (Eagle Ford JV) pipeline. Eagle Ford JV has a capacity of 660 000 bpd. It serves the Three Rivers and Corpus Christi markets directly and can supply the Houston-area market through a connection to the Enterprise South Texas crude oil pipeline.
