World Pipelines,
Transneft Diascan in cooperation with Transneft has received a Russian Federation patent for the method of fabricating a dry pulling bench to check inline inspection tools at its pipeline testing ground.
The bench allows professionals to test magnetic inspection tools, geometry tools and tools to identify the pipeline spatial position. Pipe section spools of operating pipelines with natural defects and pipe section spools with artificially applied defects are the main elements of the bench. The defects are classified into several types and undergo stringent standardisation.
The dry pulling bench is easy to use. Upon completion of inline inspection tools testing it can be cut apart and its sections (pipe section spools) can be reused if needed.
