McDermott announces the christening of its latest vessel
McDermott International, Inc. announces the christening of its Construction Support Vessel 108 (CSV 108) at Metalships & Docks shipyard in Vigo, Spain.
The shipyard hosted a naming ceremony attended by Tony Duncan, Executive Vice President, Subsea for McDermott and Manuel Rodríguez, Chairman of Metalships & Docks, SAU, local dignitaries and project staff.
“We expect the CSV108 to join the fleet in 2015, once the final deck equipment has been installed,” said Duncan. “The vessel will service the immediate needs of the subsea market as a construction support vessel, and should our client requirements for pipelay require additional capacity in the future, the versatility of CSV108 allows us to convert it for pipelay services.”
CSV108 will immediately transit to Norway for the installation of two portside active heave compensated cranes for the final stage in its construction.
