On 13 October, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued certificates to the Mountain Valley and Atlantic Coast pipeline projects. Yet, one FERC Commissioner – Cheryl LaFleur – disagreed with the certificates, refusing to approve them. In response to this dissent, Tom Gilbert from ReThink Energy NJ issued the following statement:
