New pipeline towards Turkey to enhance European gas supply reliability
The Gazprom headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Panagiotis Lafazanis, Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy.
The parties addressed Russian gas supplies to Greece and other issues of co-operation in the energy sector. It was emphasised that diversification of export routes was essential for enhancing the reliability of supplies to European consumers.
Background
Russian natural gas supplies to Greece started in 1996. According to provisional estimates, Gazprom delivered 1745 billion m3 of gas to Greece in 2014.
