EnerMech completes complex offshore scope in Australia

Delivered as part of an offshore asset campaign led by UGL on behalf of Esso Australia Resources Pty Ltd (Esso), a wholly owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil Australia, the work was carried out across assets linking the Marlin A (MLA), West Kingfish (WKF), Kingfish A (KFA) and Kingfish B (KFB) platforms.

Execution was achieved on an accelerated schedule to meet campaign requirements. Despite compressed preparation timelines and complex logistics, EnerMech completed equipment function testing, mobilisation and offshore deployment in line with project milestones, enabling offshore activities to commence as planned.

Work was delivered across multiple offshore locations, requiring close coordination between onshore engineering, logistics and offshore teams. Continuous operational, technical and logistical support was maintained throughout extended operations in challenging conditions.

The project was delivered safely, achieving zero injuries, no environmental incidents and no equipment downtime impacting operations.

The successful execution builds on EnerMech’s established relationship with Esso in Australia, following previous offshore project delivery in the region.

Charles ‘Chuck’ Davison Jr., EnerMech CEO, said: “This project demonstrates our ability to execute complex offshore scopes under tight timelines while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.

“Delivering safely and to schedule reflects the strength of our teams and the value of close collaboration with our clients and project partners.”

Following completion of the initial campaign, EnerMech has been selected as the preferred contractor for a subsequent offshore scope involving higher operating demands and increased equipment requirements.

Jason Jeow, VP Asia Pacific, said: “Coordinating across multiple offshore assets requires detailed planning and strong execution.

“This campaign highlights our ability to mobilise quickly, integrate across teams and deliver consistent performance offshore.”

The Bass Strait has supported Australia’s offshore energy sector for over five decades, with ongoing activity continuing to play a key role in the region.
