CorrosionRADAR has today announced the launch of its CR:SR sensor solution.

CorrosionRADAR expands CUI sensor portfolio with new CR:SR solution

This new short-range sensor technology expands its corrosion under insulation (CUI) intelligence portfolio with an easy to install and cost-effective solution for applications that don’t require the removal of insulation.

Industry studies estimate the global cost of corrosion exceeds US$2.5 trillion annually, and CUI remains one of the most significant asset integrity threats facing industrial operators. Risk based inspection programs can require substantial time and expense despite many inspections finding little or no active corrosion. CorrosionRADAR is transforming the CUI challenge with intelligence-based analytics that saves time, improves uptime and reduces the risk of catastrophic failures.

As with all CorrosionRADAR CUI sensors, the new CR:SR solution passes monitoring data to the AI-informed CR:CLARITY software for consolidation, analysis and reporting. The launch strengthens CorrosionRADAR's end-to-end CUI Intelligence offering, giving operators proven options to understand where CUI risk is developing, how it is evolving, and what action to take next.

The CR:SR sensor solution has been developed for targeted, localised (short-range) monitoring without the need to remove insulation. Working alongside CorrosionRADAR’s existing CR:LR solution, which delivers permanently installed, long-range monitoring across vessels, columns, tanks, and other complex assets, the CR:SR sensor further expands the CUI monitoring toolbox available to integrity teams.

Dr. Chiraz Ennaceur, Chief Executive Officer at CorrosionRADAR, said: "At CorrosionRADAR, we recognize that every asset presents a different CUI challenge. Some assets require broad coverage across large areas, while others benefit from targeted monitoring of specific high-risk locations. By expanding our portfolio to include the CR:SR sensor solution and bringing all monitoring data together through CR:CLARITY, operators gain greater flexibility in how they monitor CUI while maintaining a single view of risk across their assets."

Together, the CR:LR and CR:SR sensors address the challenges of traditional inspection programs by providing continuous visibility between inspection campaigns. CUI data is constantly collected and analyzed by the CR:CLARITY software, enabling operators to prioritize inspection activity based on changing risk conditions rather than fixed inspection intervals. Remote sensor-enabled CUI monitoring programs have demonstrated inspection scope reductions of up to 80%, helping operators focus resources on the locations that matter most while reducing unnecessary inspection costs and operational disruption. The launch reinforces CorrosionRADAR's vision of transforming CUI management from a reactive inspection activity into a proactive, intelligence-led discipline powered by continuous monitoring, AI-informed analytics, and corrosion expertise. By combining multiple monitoring strategies through a single source of CUI intelligence, CorrosionRADAR is helping operators move towards predictive, prescriptive, and ultimately more autonomous asset integrity management.
