Clock Spring Company, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of highly innovative and engineered products for the repair and rehabilitation of pipe-based critical infrastructure, announced yesterday a technology licensing and distribution agreement for the Pipeotech AS DeltaV-Seal™ technology.

Clock Spring licenses zero-emission gasket technology

The Clock Spring Full Metal Gasket™ utilises DeltaV-Seal™ technology under license from Norwegian company Pipeotech AS and is the world’s only DNV GL type approved gasket for zero emissions.

“Like the other offerings in our portfolio, this metal-to-metal gasket is a highly engineered solution that supports the maintenance and repair of critical infrastructure and helps Clock Spring deliver better environmental stewardship in the industry,” says Clock Spring CEO and President Matthew Boucher. “The gasket provides a key solution our industrial oil and gas customers are asking for to reduce fugitive emissions in their operations.”

The Clock Spring Full Metal Gasket™, designed with Pipeotech’s proprietary DeltaV-Seal™, features advanced sealing technology that prevents emissions at the connection point. Clock Spring manufactures the CNC-milled gasket from a single block of metal that is the same material as the surrounding metal, which allows the gasket to expand and contract at the same rate and maintain a complete seal throughout. The V-shaped rings compress and form a complete seal at lower levels of torque than traditional gaskets and have a higher range of tolerance for overtightening; the three rings create multiple levels of redundancy. Full Metal Gasket™ maintains a permanent, zero-emissions, non-leaking seal, delivering gas-tight reliability 10 000 times greater than the oil and gas industry requirement.

“Pipeotech is pleased to have Clock Spring as a sales, marketing, and manufacturing partner to drive penetration of this zero-emissions technology into key regions in the oil and gas and industrial sectors,” says Pipeotech CEO Henrik Sollie. “Through this licensing agreement, we are extending the reach of this product to empower more companies to reduce fugitive emissions.”

The metal-to-metal gasket improves operations in refineries and petrochemical plants as well as in terminals and on upstream gathering lines, and like all Clock Spring products, it is easy to install, cost-effective to deploy, and durable for decades.
