ROSEN to supply TAP pre-commissioning equipment

World Pipelines,

ROSEN’s Field Products and Services line is set to provide effective equipment for pre-commissioning activities to SPIECAPAG, France. The organisation will supply 48 in. pre-commissioning tools, tracking equipment and accessories to be used for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the 878 km long pipeline that will transport natural gas from the Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan to Europe.

During the pipeline manufacturing process, oils, greases, protective coatings and mill scale can have an impact on pipe wall surfaces. Therefore, it is important to remove these materials before the pipeline is put into service. Equally important in the pre-commissioning process are dewatering activities. When done effectively, this process can optimise and potential reduce drying time, saving costs as a result.

ROSEN’s pre-commissioning tools have been recognised within the industry as competitive products with excellent cleaning and dewatering performance. The equipment will be used in the new pipeline in both Greece and Albania.

The TAP will connect with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border. It will cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in southern Italy.
