The 3rd ROSEN Energy & Innovation Forum recently held in May in Lingen at the ROSEN Technology & Research Center in Germany was an opportunity for pipeline operators, regulators and technology & service providers to discuss the future of Pipeline Integrity.

“We cannot predict the future – but we can prepare ourselves for the future. That’s why we are here together.” said Hermann Rosen, Founder and President of the ROSEN Group. He continued with the vision of the forum and said “It is my firm belief that all of us can only meet the future requirements placed on our industry, with all the increasing complexity involved, by cooperating and understanding each other better.”

The 3rd ROSEN ENERGY & Innovation forum concentrated on “Pipeline Integrity 2030”. Plenary sessions and workshops revolved around the future of diagnostics and integrity, each being introduced with a series of 3 trigger presentations and an interactive workshop to follow. Particular attention was paid to the future of Non Destructive Testing, material properties, future challenges around corrosion, assessment complexity, big data analytics, and missing procedures in the pipeline industry.

The focus on the future was supplemented with two intriguing keynote speeches: “Competency – the transfer of knowledge”, presented by Dr. Phil Hopkins, and “Future energy demand 2030 and beyond” presented by Mr. Kamel Ben Naceur, director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).

The event in numbers is also impressive with around 150 participants from 20 different countries and all 5 continents.
