NEB launches online pipeline incident map
The National Energy Board (NEB) has launched an online interactive pipeline incident map that offers Canadians the opportunity to view all pipeline incidents in Canada since 2008.
In launching the map, NEB Chair Peter Watson said, “This new and interactive tool offers Canadians the ability to learn more about pipeline incidents and the companies involved. It also demonstrates the NEB’s increasing commitment to transparency.”
The Pipeline Incident Map includes customisable filters and incident details including location, company, and volumes released to ensure that Canadians get the information they want, when and where they want it.
Updates to the map will occur quarterly, with the next update scheduled to take place in July 2015. Incident data may change over time. As incident investigations are completed or new information becomes available, records are updated and will be reflected on the online map.
