The Organisers of the Gulf Safety Forum, which will be held under the Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, are pleased to announce a new Award for the HSE community. The Gulf Safety Forum will take place in Doha on 30 - 31 October and is aimed at the industry sectors including but not limited to oil, gas, petrochemicals, aluminium, transport and construction.

Franco Polli, of industry giant DuPont Sustainable Solutions, said: “We believe that the Gulf Safety Forum is a very well recognised and visible platform to share new points of view and stimulate the discussion around ways to improve safety. Workplace safety remains a critical issue within the GCC, and we are pleased to contribute to the conversation about how to drive improvement.”

The GSF Safety Award will be presented to the company who has demonstrated the best overall achievement in safety during the last two years and will celebrate the organisation who has found innovative ways of making lasting improvements to the safety and health of their workers, to the environment and to productivity. By sharing their examples and recognising their achievements, the GSF Safety Award hopes to drive change and promote best practice in safety.

The panel of judges will include DuPont, Texas A&M University, Euro Petroleum Consultants and the Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). Judges will evaluate projects according to criteria such as management involvement, cultural evolution, performance improvement, innovation and stakeholder engagement.
