GE presents advanced solutions at Expo Oil & Gas Colombia
During Expo Oil & Gas Colombia 2014, which takes place 4-7 November in Bogotá, GE Oil & Gas will present solutions for the Latin America petroleum industry. As a leading provider of advanced technologies for Latin America’s fast-growing market, the company understands the specifications of each region to be able to respond accordingly.
GE Oil & Gas has a complete portfolio of terrestrial applications from shallow wells of low pressure to critical services wells drilled at depths of more than 20,000 ft. In this context, the company developed the Well Performance Services (WPS) unit focused on providing not just products to the customers, but also solutions. The artificial lift market is predicted to register a double-digit growth in the next few years - around US$ 16 billion by 2018.
With strategic wells being explored in countries such as Colombia and Venezuela, Latin America is a very important region to GE Oil & Gas. At Expo Oil & Gas Colombia 2014, GE will show some intelligent technologies that are able to maximise production and reduce operating costs. One of these technologies is the GE Surface Pumping Systems. It provides versatile, cost-effective and low-maintenance alternatives to many multi-stage split-case centrifugal, positive displacement and vertical-turbine pump models. GE’s modular design is used in a wide variety of applications including routine water injection, heavy crude transfer, mine dewatering and offshore fluid handling.
Other equipment that will be presented at the fair is VetcoGray D-Series DHXT, a next-generation deepwater tree engineered for up to 15,000 psi at a depth of 10,000 ft. Part of GE’s new D-Series of modular short-delivery subsea tree systems, this product incorporates more than 25 years of design heritage and subsea experience. In addition, participants will meet, in an interactive way, the innovative solutions developed by GE in the areas of Intelligent Platforms, Turbomachinery Solutions, Subsea Systems, Downstream Technology Solutions and Drilling & Surface. GE’s executives also will be at the event in order to introduce all the company’s expertise in the oil and gas industry.
“Colombia is an important market for GE Oil & Gas, and the Expo Oil & Gas Colombia is a great opportunity to present all the technological advancements that GE offers to the industry as well as to promote the implementation of efficient technologies with less environmental impact. Our next-generation products destined for all segments of the oil and gas industry allow increased production, optimise use of resources and reduced issues of performance and access,” says Jose Matiz, GE key account manager for EcoPetrol.
GE Oil & Gas currently has 30 units in Latin America, in countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Ecuador. With more than 5400 employees at the region, the company is today among the strongest players in the global oil and gas industry. In Latin America, it has an installed base of over 2000 wellheads, 1500 km of flexible pipes and around 100,000 fuel pumps and dispensers.
