Chubb Systems Limited has won a major new contract to supply and install a fully integrated intruder detection and security management system at key installations for West & Wales Utilities, the gas distribution network. Chubb, a leading provider of security and fire-safety solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

West & Wales Utilities covers a sixth of the UK, supplying gas to 7.5 million people across Wales and the south west of England. A team of Chubb specialists will design and install custom security systems at six of these hubs. Each design will include a combination of closed circuit television, access control and intruder detection, and remote monitoring at a 24 hr/d Alarm Receiving Centre. Each installation will also take advantage of the latest white and infrared lighting and advanced video analytics for the optimal detection performance.

In addition, Chubb Systems will also install ADACS, its Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI)-accredited security platform*. Chubb ADACS is an information management system that collates data and security information from multiple channels, protecting an organisation’s portfolio of assets that may be distributed over a wide geographical area.
