P2 Energy Solutions appoints Ben Wilson as its new CTO

P2 Energy Solutions (P2) has named Ben Wilson, former CTO for GE Oil and Gas, as CTO and Global Head of Product Management. He will oversee P2's integrated P2 oil and gas platform, analytics and cloud businesses.

Possessing 25 years of technology expertise and leadership, Wilson will oversee P2's continued investment to deliver a fully integrated platform that includes data, analytics, land management, accounting, production and reserves management.

"P2 has an exciting product and data set that has seven billion transactions per year, 500 000 connected wells and 20 000 field operations staff using P2 software. That means there is a substantial opportunity to leverage workflows, data and analytics to drive down costs for our customers," Wilson said. "I believe that operators will see significant value when workflow and analytics are connected not only to the well but all the way through hydrocarbon and joint venture accounting, where barrels and dollars meet."

Over the course of his IT career at GE, BG Group, Siemens and IBM, Wilson has supported more than 100 000 users and managed teams across more than 500 locations and 100 countries. Prior to joining P2, Wilson was CTO of GE Oil and Gas, where he helped deliver pipeline management, asset performance management and a host of other solutions. He also defined and implemented a global cloud strategy for the Fortune 500 company.
