M² Subsea has secured a multi million dollar contract with TransCanada to carry out pipeline span support on the company’s pipeline installation for the Sur de Texas-Tuxpan gas project in the Gulf of Mexico.

The scope of work will see M² Subsea install grout supports along the southern leg of the pipeline to prevent stress during installation and hydrostatic testing.

The global independent provider of ROV project management and engineering services, M² Subsea will manage the project working closely with local partner, Mexican-based Frontera Resources, utilising the Mexican flagged multi purpose support vessel (MPSV) Tehuana.

Mike Arnold, M² Subsea CEO, commented: “This is a significant milestone for M² Subsea and allows us to continue to gain further experience in the region.

“This is our second project with Frontera in the Mexican sector and we’re looking forward to building our relationship through the delivery of safe, sustainable subsea work scopes. Local content is an integral part of our growth plan and we are extremely proud of the strong partnerships we have built with all of our suppliers in Mexico.

“Our company has continued to grow over the last 12 months and this contract is a testament to our team’s hard work and determination as we continue to expand our footprint globally.”

The company’s Houston office will be responsible for delivering the workscope with support from the UK team and local partners in Mexico.
