The UAE is in the process of diversifying its resources by moving away from oil and towards green energy sources. The country is currently on track to meet its ambitious sustainability targets and ranked as the top Middle Eastern country in the latest Environmental Performance Index published by Yale and Columbia universities.

The 24th edition of WETEX, organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), marks a cornerstone moment for the UAE’s green ambitions. The exhibition will showcase the latest trends and technologies in the energy, water and cleantech sectors, welcoming thousands of visitors and exhibitors from more than 45 countries.

WEG, the global manufacturer of industrial motors and drives, will showcase a variety of products and digital solutions designed to minimise energy consumption. Among the products on display is the new CFW900 drive, the latest addition to the well-established CFW range of frequency inverters.

The newly released range boasts a simplified design, increased power density and improved ease of use that allows users to access configurations and technical data in a fast and straightforward way. VSDs are a key technology to reduce energy consumption, as they allow operators to match the speed of their motor-driven equipment to the requirements of the application.

Finally, the company will showcase its offering for industrial pumps management – Pump Genius. This is a customisable feature of WEG drives that turns VSDs into dedicated devices for pumping systems, ensuring accurate pressure/flow control to avoid damage to pumps, pipelines and fittings.

“Digital technologies are crucial to minimise energy consumption and help manufacturers make the most of their assets, while reducing their environmental footprint,” explained Marek Lukaszczyk, Marketing Manager for WEG Europe and the Middle East. “The new digital portfolio from WEG has been developed to fulfil increased customer demand. Our goal is to help plant managers improve their plant efficiency and better manage maintenance through digital solutions.”
