Strohm, the global thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) specialist for the energy industries, has appointed two senior advisors as part of its plans for expansion in Asia Pacific.

The company is extending its reach in the Australian market through the appointment of Robby O'Sullivan as a strategic consultant. Mr O’Sullivan will be heading up business development at the Perth office. He brings over three decades of experience in the engineering and energy sectors in Europe and APAC, with specialist knowledge of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines.

June Othman has returned to Strohm after a brief spell away from the business last year and will again be working closely with Middle East and Asia-Pacific VP, Fabienne Ellington, to pursue key business development opportunities in Asia, one of the fastest-growing regions in terms of electricity demand. A graduate of Murdoch University, Ms Othman has over a decade of experience in the energy industry gained in her previous roles with Oceaneering and marine consultancy M3 Marine Group.

Speaking of his appointment, Mr Sullivan said: “Strohm has a strong reputation in the industry for its reliable and knowledgeable team and I’m excited to have the opportunity to work for a young, dynamic company.

“I look forward to helping Strohm’s clients in the region to realise the true potential TCP offers including its corrosion resistance, high durability and ease of installation. With the remoteness of Australia, our lightweight TCP products are perfectly suited to provide savings for clients on transport and installation costs.”

The appointments come as momentum grows in the energy transition space. The new roles will support the company’s plans for expansion in new regions and its ambition to capitalise on new opportunities to support operators with a zero corrosion, lower CO2 emission technology at a lower cost.

Strohm’s CEO, Oliver Kassam, said: “We have been working to meet the challenges of the energy transition head on while continuing to support the existing oil and gas industry as it stands today. Our low carbon, non-corrosive TCP offers a 60% reduced CO2 footprint compared to traditional steel alternatives, and we are understandably excited to bring this technology to a wider global market.

“Robby and June’s combined 30-plus years’ experience and network across the energy industries offers a wealth of opportunities for growth in this key region. We are thrilled to have them on board and supporting us as we expand our TCP offering to include applications for offshore wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage.”
