World Pipelines,
PennWell and the Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) Association have agreed to co-locate the 23rd Annual GITA Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference & Exhibition and the 10th Annual PODS Users Conference. The partnership will result in the creation of Pipeline Week, which will be held from 28th - 30th October 2014.
The 10th Annual PODS User Conference will take place on 28th - 29th October and will include a programme of operator presentations, workshops, training and round table discussions focusing on leveraging the PODS Standard. Running simultaneously from 28th - 30th October 2014, the GITA's Oil & Gas Pipeline conference will host an operator forum and a number of panel discussions. Pipeline Week will encourage the free flow of ideas from a wide range of viewpoints.
In conjunction with the conferences, a sold-out exhibit hall will showcase technology, equipment and services vital to the oil and gas pipeline industry. Companies showcasing their products and services in the exhibition hall include Blue Marble Geographics, ESRI, GE Energy Management, GL Noble Denton, Integra Services Technologies, New Century Software, RigData and Rosen USA. Technology and products on display on the exhibit floor include GIS technology, IT analytics, geospatial technology, mapping, pipeline services, product management, commercial data, business development, business processing, engineering, drafting operations services, pipeline integrity, compliance data, regulatory compliance, pipeline solutions, asset integrity, project management, research, environmental, integrity management, product development, emergency management, damage prevention, and architecture and design.
"We are excited about partnering with PODS to create Pipeline Week. The pipeline business is in a big growth period right now. According to a recent study, companies will need to invest US$ 641 billion over the next two decades in pipelines and other infrastructure to keep up with the gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids flowing from US fields," said Mark Peters, Group Publisher and Vice President at PennWell. "During Pipeline Week, attendees have the opportunity to network with each other, ask questions, share knowledge and compare best practices. Industry leaders enjoy this closed forum, where open discussion is highly encouraged."
Janet Sinclair, Executive Director of the PODS Association, commented: "This partnership has created a highly valuable and content-rich event for PODS members and the pipeline community. Pipeline Week promises to provide attendees with a very relevant spectrum of learning and networking opportunities focused into one convenient event."
