Rosneft and Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A in the framework of the visit of the Italian delegation to Russia agreed to extend the existing agreement on industrial co-operation until the end of 2019, and signed a new agreement. The document was signed in the presence of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic Giuseppe Conte by Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, and Paolo Nardi, Managing Director of Pietro Fiorentini.

The new agreement is aimed at the development of technological co-operation between the companies, which began in May 2017. The document provides for additional pilot tests of equipment that measure the volume of hydrocarbons produced (multiphase flowmeters of wet gas) and high integrity pressure protection systems against high pressure – HIPPS – produced by Pietro Fiorentini. If the pilot trials prove to be successful, the parties will consider the prospects for further co-operation in localising the production of measurement equipment, as well as other products and services that may be of interest to Rosneft.

The first trials of the multiphase flowmeter were carried out at one of the company's oil and gas fields in the winter of 2017 - 2018 and confirmed the performance of the equipment.
