Telvent is to provide an integrated automation system for Shaanxi Provincial Natural Gas Pipeline Company
Telvent has been selected to implement a complete and integrated automation solution for the Jingbian-Xi’an Gas Pipeline, operated by the Shaanxi Provincial Natural Gas Pipeline Company, Ltd. The advanced-technology supervisory control and information management solution will assure reliable availability of real-time pipeline data for operation security and efficiency.
Telvent will design, install, configure, test and commission the 800 km Jingbian-Xi’an pipeline control and communications systems. Improved operational performance of the pipeline will help Shaanxi, the province’s only local natural gas pipeline operator, secure gas supply to meet increasing energy demand by the Chinese market.
In turn, enhanced operations efficiency is expected to significantly increase gas transportation capacity and support exploration in North China. Currently, Shaanxi operates four gas pipelines with a total length of 1169 km and an annual transportation capacity of 4 billion m3. The pipeline owner, Shaanxi Provincial Investment Company, expects to install additional pipelines and extend existing control center systems to increase this capacity.
