Modi to launch gas pipeline project

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to visit his Lok Sabha constituency today (24 November).

During the visit, Modi is expected to launch several ambitious projects, including a 1500 km gas pipeline that is set to cost approximately INR 51 000 crore.

The gas pipeline project, which Modi expects to provide piped natural gas (PNG) to residents of Varanasi within two years, is named Urja Ganga. In the year after, it is expected to cater to millions of people in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.
