Approval of Rover Pipeline crucial to Michigan's energy future

Jim Holcomb, Senior Vice President for Business Advocacy & General Counsel for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, has issued the following statement regarding the Rover Pipeline Project, which has submitted a formal application for approval to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission:

"The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is encouraged that the Rover Pipeline is one step closer to reality, and that the regulatory process is moving forward. Michigan is at a crucial crossroads for its energy future. Expanding our natural gas infrastructure will help deliver lower costs for energy intensive businesses from agriculture to manufacturing, and will provide consumers with access to abundant and affordable gas. We look forward to FERCs prompt approval of this economically important project."

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is a statewide business organisation representing approximately 6700 employers, trade associations and local chambers of commerce. The Michigan Chamber represents businesses of every size and type in all 83 counties of the state. Michigan Chamber member businesses provide jobs to 1.5 million residents. 

One of every 2.6 employees in Michigan works for a Chamber member firm. The Michigan Chamber was established in 1959 to be an advocate for Michigan's job providers in the legislative, political and legal process. It is one of only six state chambers accredited by the US Chamber and one of only four state chambers accredited with distinction.
