Penspen strengthens integrity division to support global growth
Penspen, a leading global provider of engineering and management services to the energy industry, is due to open its new Newcastle office on Wednesday 25 February to support its expanding asset integrity division.
Led by Walt Doxford, the newly appointed Head of integrity for Europe and Africa, the new premises will deliver an array of integrity services for the energy sector including risk assessment, inspection, defect assessment, materials selection, training, corrosion management and engineering critical assessment.
The move comes after Penspen increased its workforce at its current Newcastle base by 30% from 38 staff members to a team of more than 50 in only six months.
Peter O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Penspen said: “We have been in the integrity business for 60 years and the rapid growth of our Newcastle centre of excellence, which supports our teams around the globe with consulting and training services, demonstrates the outstanding value that our integrity engineers deliver to our clients.
“Walt’s career in engineering spans more than 35 years working with major oil and gas companies and service providers including: BP, British Gas, Lloyds Register and Wood Group. He has a depth of knowledge in quality assurance and inspection, materials engineering and non-destructive testing, making him very well qualified to lead our Asset Integrity division in Europe and Africa.
“Our integrity services are an integral part of the support that we deliver to our clients, and as such they have been a key factor in helping Penspen to grow its business with major operators in the North Sea and around the world.”
Mr Doxford said: “I am thrilled to be joining Penspen at such an exciting time for the company. We have ambitious growth plans and I’m confident that my skills and experience will help drive this expansion and open new doors for Penspen.”
