World Pipelines,
Anomali, the leader in modernising and scaling security operations, and the Oil and Natural Gas Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ONG-ISAC), have announced a joint initiative to help protect oil and natural gas critical infrastructure organisations against nation-state attacks and other persistent cyber adversaries.
ONG-ISAC serves as a central point of coordination and communication to aid in the protection of exploration and production, transportation, refining, and delivery systems of the ONG industry, through the analysis and sharing of trusted and timely cyber threat information, including vulnerability and threat activity specific to ICS and SCADA systems.
“Critical infrastructure remains a primary target for today’s threat actors, whose activities can cause substantial and costly disruptions. At the ONG-ISAC, our mission is to identify and share information about cyber threats and vulnerabilities with our members by leveraging effective technologies and automation. Anomali has a strong reputation for helping critical infrastructure organisations detect and respond to global adversaries. We look forward to partnering with them to protect our members’ networks, control systems, facilities, assets, and people,” said Angela Haun, Executive Director, ONG-ISAC.
“The recent second anniversary of the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack and the current Russia-Ukraine war has put a renewed spotlight on ongoing nation-state cyberattacks against energy critical infrastructure targets. Anomali is proud to partner with ONG-ISAC and support its many members in their fight against today’s most persistent adversaries,” said Mark Alba, CMO, Anomali.
How it works
The Anomali Platform, built on the largest repository of cyber intelligence, will be used by ONG-ISAC member security analysts to identify attackers who are specifically targeting these critical infrastructure organisations. In addition to strategic intelligence that provides a detailed understanding of the attacker and their tactics and techniques, the Anomali Platform will provide ONG-ISAC analysts access to high-fidelity signals of attack that can then be leveraged to detect threats and prioritise a response. The Anomali Platform is the leading integrated global threat intelligence and security analytics platform for ISACs, ISAOs, industry groups, holding companies, and other threat intel-sharing communities seeking to power secure collaboration and to prevent disruption of highly critical operations.
Anomali will provide each ONG-ISAC member with a dedicated threat intelligence management environment they can use to curate relevant intelligence and investigate relevant cyberattack trends. Anomali is proud to offer ONG-ISAC and their members the Anomali Platform, supported by Anomali Threat Research and customer support experts, that will ensure each member can easily access, leverage, and maximise the use of global intelligence to stop attacks.
