Representatives for Transneft and Transneft Diascan participated in the 14th Meeting of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The event was held in Moscow on 5 - 6 March 2018. Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation headed the Russian team, and the Iranian delegation was led by Masoud Karbasian, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The report of the meeting states that Transneft and the Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) have a positive outlook on the cooperation in the field of construction of a dedicated testing ground in Iran for inline flaw-detective devices. The parties also welcomed progress in cooperation between Transneft Diascan and Iranian oil and gas companies in terms of NDT control of the pipeline infrastructure.
In 2016 - 2017, Transneft Diascan professionals inspected over 4000 km of pipelines in Iran (approximately 1400 km in 2016, to be followed by more than 2700 km in 2017). The inline inspection was performed using BGTs, WM ultrasonic flaw detectors, MFL magnetic flaw detectors, and combined MFL+TFI magnetic devices.
