NEB to open regional offices
The National Energy Board (NEB) will open regional officer in Vancouver and Montréal in spring 2015.
The offices are part of an initiative to strengthen the NEB's regional presence, raise awareness about its work, build stronger relationships with regional public and local institutions, communities, landowners and Aboriginal groups; and to be in a position to more quickly respond to events requiring immediate NEB attention.
"We want to do a better job of connecting with communities across the country and building relationships with Canadians," said Peter Watson, NEB Chair and Chief Executive Officer. “A regional presence in Vancouver and Montréal will allow us to more effectively share information about the Board and the work we do to protect the public and the environment.”
Each office will be staffed to do community engagement, communications and operations.
