As a result of auctions concerning continuous annual products that finished on the GSA and RBP platforms on 6 July 2020, capacity for the nearest gas years has been assigned. Market participants taking part in the auction were given the opportunity, for the very first time, to book the related capacity of interconnectors between Poland and Germany, as well as the capacity of the new virtual point at the Poland-Ukraine border.
Acting in the capacity of the national transmission system operator and operator of the Polish section of Yamal-Western Europe transit pipelines (GAZ-SYSTEM ISO) (hereinafter: the Yamal pipeline), GAZ-SYSTEM offered its annual capacity at auctions held in accordance with the provisions of the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017.
By taking part in the auctions that were held on GSA and RBP platforms, market participants were able to book continued capacity related to annual products. Capacity for the period of 15 subsequent gas years maximum was offered at the auctions.
The auctions that were finished on Monday, 6 July 2020, resulted in booking nearly 100% of the Yamal pipeline’s entry and exit point capacity offered for the gas year of 2020/2021.
In line with the requirements of CAM NC, the remaining 10% of the Yamal pipeline’s capacity – SGT Kondratki and SGT Mallnow – will be offered to market participants during the subsequent auctions that will cover quarterly, monthly, daily and intra-daily products.
Capacity of the GCP GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO entry point connection on the Poland-Ukraine border turned out to evoke great interest among buyers. 100% of the capacity offered for the gas year of 2021/2022 and 85% for the year 2020/2021 has been contracted at this particular location.
Results of July 6 auctions related to continuous annual capacity offered at the remaining GAZ-SYSTEM locations are presented in the diagram below.
Auctions of intermittent capacities related to annual products will be held, in line with the schedule currently in effect, on 20 July 2020.
