Exova opens Pittsburgh laboratory

Exova, the global testing group, has opened its first facility in the North East of the US with a new materials and corrosion testing laboratory in Pittsburgh.

The laboratory will provide testing and consultancy services in metallurgy, polymers and coatings as well as corrosion risk assessment and mitigation, primarily to the oil and gas and industrials sectors.

The location of the laboratory close to the Marcellus shale field brings Exova’s services to an important region by providing particular expertise in supporting field inspection and corrosion mitigation.

The laboratory also extends the company’s advisory services in areas including failure analysis and risk assessment. Combining with Exova’s existing global capabilities, the specialist team in Pittsburgh will work with customers to improve the performance and quality to their in-service assets.

The new facility, under the operational leadership of General Manager, John Ciliege, and technical leadership of Dr. Mehrooz Zamanzadeh, will be part of Exova’s oil and gas division in the US and will also work closely with the company’s network of oil and gas, aerospace and industrials laboratories worldwide.

The Pittsburgh laboratory represents Exova’s 143rd facility in 32 countries worldwide.
