Homeowners, citizens’ groups and conservation leaders opposed to New Jersey Natural Gas’ Southern Reliability Link (SRL) pipeline will hold a press conference immediately prior to a meeting being held by the Pinelands Commission in Trenton on Thursday 14 September, at which the Commission is expected to vote on the project to be built in the protected Pinelands National Reserve.

A recent analysis by energy markets consulting firm, Skipping Stone, found the US$180 million SRL pipeline project to be an ‘ineffective answer to a reliability problem that doesn't exist’.
At this event, speakers will call upon the commissioners to reject the SRL pipeline project proposal based on the expert analysis that demonstrated conclusively that the pipeline it is not needed and because it would threaten irreplaceable ecological and drinking water resources in the Pinelands, as well as pose a huge price tag to New Jersey ratepayers.
