World Pipelines,
After the federal government and Texas’ state filed a lawsuit against Koch Pipeline Company, the company has got its comeuppance.
The spill
In 1998, Koch had a 24 700 gallon crude oil spill; it came from a receiving station and into the local Karnes County’s Marcelinas Creek causing extensive environmental damage.
Pay up
It was decided that Koch – without admitting liability – is to pay US$770 000. This will be split between several state and federal agencies in order to cover restoration costs etc.
