Howard Midstream Energy Partners, LLC (HEP) has appointed two new industry veterans to its leadership team: Roy Patton as Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President and Brett Braden as General Counsel and Senior Vice President.

Roy Patton joins HEP with nearly 35 years of experience in the natural gas pipeline industry. His experience spans all aspects of commercial activities including gathering and processing, high pressure transmission pipelines, business development and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining HEP, Patton was Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. (ETP). Patton most recently oversaw ETP’s activities in Mexico and was responsible for creating approximately 1 billion ft3/d of new business and developing over 300 miles of 42 in. pipeline with over 2.5 billion ft3/d of capacity from the Permian Basin to Mexico.

Brett Braden has been an energy lawyer in Houston for almost 20 years. Prior to joining HEP, Braden served as a founding partner at Latham & Watkins LLP, which he helped form in 2010. Primarily focused on corporate finance and merger and acquisition matters, Braden has comprehensive experience representing MLPs and other companies engaged in the upstream, midstream and service sectors of the oil and gas industry.

“Adding two new executives like Roy and Brett to our leadership team is a significant win for Howard Energy as we continue to grow and diversify our business in the North American market,” said Brad Bynum, Howard Energy Partners President.
