Subsea supply chain businesses in south-west England will be able to identify opportunities and debate the challenges facing the sector at a new industry networking event organised by Subsea UK, the body which represents the £9 billion British subsea industry.
Subsea UK is hosting a networking event in Bristol on the 27th January. Around 40 businesses in the region are involved in the subsea sector, which is focused on underwater activity in relation to oil & gas, defence, oceanology and marine renewables. Sponsored by Advanced Insulation, Castrol - Global Marine & Energy Lubricants, Agito Technical Dynamics, Rochling Plastics and Viper Subsea Technologies and supported by UK Trade & Investment South West, this event is one in a series to be held in the key subsea hubs across the UK.
Neil Gordon, Chief Executive of Subsea UK, said: “As an organisation covering the whole of the UK, we want to help all companies in the subsea sector exploit the potential to increase business at home and abroad, particularly in the current lower oil price environment. There is a huge amount of innovation and expertise in the south-west of England, particularly in subsea oil and gas.
“Collaboration and driving efficiencies through new technology are critical if the sector is to thrive against the challenges of a low commodity price. Oil and gas is the largest market for subsea companies and the sector must rise to the challenge of developing new solutions that will increase production and recovery of hydrocarbon reserves at lower cost. This event is an important step in helping organisations in the south-west to come together and work towards a common goal. Anyone with an interest in the subsea industry is welcome to attend.”
The south-west subsea networking event will take place at Bristol’s Armada House. Those wishing to attend or interested in sponsorship can find further information online via the Subsea UK website, www.subseauk.com.
