Proximity to customers and partners worldwide is a key to success for the special machine manufacturer TRACTO-TECHNIK from Lennestadt-Saalhausen (Germany). The family company regularly opens its doors to visitors in order to give users an insight into the working methods and application variety of its systems for trenchless pipe installation.

One of the most popular events of this kind are the demonstration days called 'Hands on Days', which took place this year from 9 - 13 April at the company's own test site in Lennestadt-Gleierbrück.

International trade visitors to the 'TRACTO-CITY' experienced the whole world of trenchless technologies for pipe installation and renewal live. The extensive programme included numerous practical demonstrations from all product groups, a wide-ranging lecture programme and much networking at evening events in the tent city and in the Galileo Park in Meggen. In addition, customers and partners visited the optimised production facilities and the new ultra-modern logistics centre on Winterberger Strasse in Saalhausen during a guided tour of the plant.

Under the motto "Why dig trenches when there are better solutions", the event focused on the diverse application possibilities of NODIG technologies for supply and disposal. TRACTO-TECHNIK's innovative products and systems offer sustainable and economical solutions, especially with regards to cost reduction for private utilities and the tax-funded public sector when maintaining and developing the complex underground infrastructure. The product range includes intelligent methods for a wide variety of applications such as water pipeline construction, fibre optic network construction (FTTX), natural gas distribution networks, ground cabling, sewer construction, e-mobility, pipeline construction, wind farms and district heating. At the 'Hands on Days', visitors learned everything worth knowing about the possibilities of trenchless installation and renewal of pipelines and house connections for these applications in theory and practice.

In order to present the various NODIG systems to the visitors in a clearly arranged way, an entire tent city was set up in the 'TRACTO-CITY' in Lennestadt-Gleierbrück. There were different topic worlds starting with the classical non-steerable boring method with GRUNDOMAT soil displacement hammers and GRUNDORAM steel pipe rammers, through steerable HDD technology with GRUNDOPIT and GRUNDODRILL, as well as auger boring with GRUNDOBORE, up to systems for the underground pipe renewal with GRUNDOBURST and GRUNDOCRACK. In addition, a separate R&D world was dedicated to current development projects. All displays were supplemented by practical demonstrations of machine technology and special technical lectures, which took place in a specially designed tent. The exhibition was rounded off by a "branding world" in which you can learn everything about the TRACTO-TECHNIK brand.

The exhibition in the tent city 'TRACTO-CITY' is divided into different themed worlds, which show visitors the variety of applications of trenchless technology.

The 'Hands on Days' took place this year for the eleventh time. Several hundred users and planners from the civil engineering industry as well as clients and network operators from the supply and disposal industry from over 50 countries around the world were registered. TRACTO-TECHNIK employees also had the opportunity to visit TRACTO-CITY. To this end, the management invited all employees and their families to a special 'family day'.

At the 'Hands on Days', special lectures complement the exhibition and practical demonstrations.
