Paul Stockwell, founder and Managing Director of Process Vision, will be presenting a paper at the GPA Midstream Conference, San Antonio, TX, USA in September 2024. The paper, ‘Pipeline videos help improve gas quality’ will explore a real-life case study of a US Transmission System Operator (TSO) and how engineers are able to view inside a live pipeline with a process camera and it will be revealed that when these ‘dry gas’ systems are monitored, mist or stratified liquid flows are often present, highlighting the uncertainties in hydrocarbon dewpoint calculation.
Paul will present how live-streaming video to the control room and the associated data are proving to be a useful new metric for process control and provides engineers with a better understanding of what is happening in pipelines to make evidence-based decisions regarding the cost-effectiveness of ethane rejection.
