Paul Stockwell, founder and Managing Director of Process Vision, will be presenting a paper at the GPA Midstream Conference, San Antonio, TX, USA in September 2024. With over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Paul is a leading expert in the field of dewpoint measurement. Process Vision will also be exhibiting at the Convention.

Process Vision to present at GPA Midstream Conference on pipeline video technology

The paper, ‘Pipeline videos help improve gas quality’ will explore a real-life case study of a US Transmission System Operator (TSO) and how engineers are able to view inside a live pipeline with a process camera and it will be revealed that when these ‘dry gas’ systems are monitored, mist or stratified liquid flows are often present, highlighting the uncertainties in hydrocarbon dewpoint calculation.

Paul will present how live-streaming video to the control room and the associated data are proving to be a useful new metric for process control and provides engineers with a better understanding of what is happening in pipelines to make evidence-based decisions regarding the cost-effectiveness of ethane rejection.

"With the ability to look directly into high-pressure gas pipelines, this new technology is transforming the industry and providing a deeper understanding of the problem areas in gas systems," said Paul. "I am honoured to have the opportunity to share our findings and insights with the GPA community and help drive progress in the industry."

At GPA Midstream, Process Vision will showcase its groundbreaking LineVu process camera system, a comprehensive solution that provides unparalleled insights into pipeline operations. LineVu's live video streaming camera offers real-time visibility into liquid carryover in gas flows at pressure, enabling users to make informed decisions for process control. The system empowers engineers and operators by revolutionising the way they monitor, optimise, and secure their operations.

Process Vision will also showcase its new Discovery System. Enabling a temporary installation of LineVu for a study to be conducted to assess real conditions inside pipelines. Studies are performed to determine if there is a continuous or intermittent liquid carryover problem. During the study, remote access to a real-time dashboard provides minute-by-minute data. The final written study report, together with review meetings provides evidence for better decisions, which can lead to significant improvement in financial, safety and compliance performance.

"We are excited to participate at GPA Midstream and to be able to introduce attendees to the capabilities of LineVu and our Discovery System for their high-pressure gas pipelines," said Spencer Parker, General Manager, North America at Process Vision. "Our system's ability to provide live streaming and high-resolution video combined with our proprietary machine learning analytics models enables proactive monitoring of glycol and NGL carryover, leading to increased revenue for processing plants and reduced maintenance costs for transmission system operators."

Process Vision is dedicated to revolutionising the energy industry with cutting-edge vision technology and innovative solutions. The company provides real-time monitoring and expert advice to improve reliability and efficiency in pipeline operations and reduce the risk of equipment failure or shutdowns.

The GPA Midstream Conference is a premier event in the oil and gas industry, attracts the industry's technical community and offers educational sessions plus networking opportunities. Paul's presentation is a testament to Process Vision's commitment to advancing the industry and improving safety and efficiency in pipeline operations.
