API welcomes newly appointed PHMSA administrator

The American Petroleum Institute (API) has welcomed the confirmation of Howard “Skip” Elliott to be administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) at the Department of Transportation.
“Skip Elliott brings a wealth of experience with him as he takes the helm at PHMSA,” said API Midstream and Industry Operations Group Director, Robin Rorick.
“As the regulator for the transportation of oil and natural gas products by pipeline and rail, PHMSA plays a critical role in ensuring that the nation can continue to take advantage of the US energy renaissance. We look forward to working closely with the new administrator and the rest of his staff to advance our shared goal of promoting safety in these operations,” Rorick stated.
