Element has been selected as an approved supplier for ENI, an Italian multinational oil and gas company operating in 71 countries worldwide. The Element Milan laboratory has been approved to perform destructive testing for ENI and all of its supply chain partners.

Approval was granted following a technical evaluation of the Milan laboratory and all test-related processes including quality management systems and health and safety practices. The range of approved testing includes: fracture mechanics and fatigue in sour service conditions; corrosion tests; metallographic examinations and analysis; failure analysis; chemical analysis; thermal analysis; viscosity tests and stress creep rupture tests.

Rod Martin, EVP for Oil and Gas commented: "We are extremely proud of this achievement. As one of the biggest global companies operating in the oil and gas sector, ENI demands the highest level of expertise from its suppliers. With over 100 years’ experience in the sector, Element has a proven track record in consistently delivering accurate test results and helping to minimise risk for its clients. Gaining this approval demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide certainty for ENI and its supply chain partners.’’

Element’s Milan laboratory specialises in a wide range of testing services including: routine mechanical testing, fracture mechanics; corrosion; fitness for service (FFS); finite element modelling (FEM) analysis; remnant life assessments (RLA); engineering critical assessment (ECA); failure analysis; creep testing; chemical analysis; and cryogenic testing (in liquid helium).
