Transneft Diascan has participated in Congreso Mexicano del Petróleo (CMP) 2018, a Mexican oil congress and exhibition hosted by the city of Acapulco (Mexico) on 26 - 29 September 2018.

The exhibition’s visitors were shown mock-up models of the unique inspection systems manufactured by Transneft Diascan – combined magnetic (MFL+TFI) and magnetic and ultrasonic (MFL+WM+CD) inspection tools.

The operating principle of the combined tools is based on the advantages of different inspection methods. The technology enables more efficient detecting of various flaws such as corrosion, scratch marks, cracks in transverse and longitudinal welds, lamination and metal losses, as well as illegal tappings in a single run of the pipeline. Transneft Diascan was among the first flaw inspection tools manufacturers in the world to employ this technology, which afterwards spread among other inspection equipment producers.

Congreso Mexicano del Petróleo is a key regional forum for exchanging the latest developments and technical achievements in oil production and refining. Mexico was among the first countries where Transneft Diascan started implementing its overseas inline inspection projects. In 2014 - 2016, the Russian company’s experts applied Transneft Diascan tools when inspecting the Nuevo-Teapa – Salina Cruz oil pipeline.
