Discussion: gas transmission routes from Russia to Europe

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Hans-Ulrich Engel, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Wintershall Holding, took place on 4 October at the 6th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

The parties addressed bilateral partnership in the gas sector, focusing in particular on Russian gas supplies to Germany and gas transmission routes from Russia to Europe.

The meeting touched on the joint production projects. Specifically, the participants commended the ongoing development of the Yuzhno-Russkoye and Urengoyskoye fields. It was highlighted that as of 4 October 2016, the accumulated gas production from the Yuzhno-Russkoye field had reached about 210 billion m3.

The meeting participants reviewed the progress of the Nord Stream 2 project. BASF/Wintershall reaffirmed its position to facilitate the project.
