Iconic Simulation joins Applied Flow Technology

World Pipelines,

Located near the Bristol Channel, Iconic Simulation will represent Applied Flow Technology (AFT) throughout the UK. The UK territory had been run previously by Brian McManus of PISCES Engineering Services for 27 years. The territory was then acquired by Flex Process Ltd, who laid the groundwork for the current thriving UK customer base.

Iconic Simulation Ltd has been created by the former Managing Director of Flex Process Ltd, Roger Rayner, an experienced Chemical Engineer with 30 years’ experience in simulation modelling. The sale of the former company to a larger EPC firm has allowed Roger to start Iconic Simulation and focus further on process simulation, process engineering, and process safety services.

“Having been a user of AFT software for 15 years and a previous distributor, I can’t speak highly enough of AFT as a company, which is run by a team of very dedicated professionals, committed to the development of the software and needs of its customers” says Roger.

Roger is supported by a small team, who would be pleased to hear from existing customers and anyone looking to try the software for the first time.

Iconic Simulation’s AFT portfolio

Iconic Simulation will host AFT’s comprehensive line of steady-state and transient flow analysis products to calculate pressures, flow, and temperatures changes within piping and ducting systems. The software tools are used to engineer safer, more efficient systems and solve operational problems.

Simulate operating conditions

AFT Fathom, which models steady-state incompressible flow, is the flagship product within the UK. Known for reliable calculations and user-friendly reporting, engineers save man-hours which are reinvested into further enhancing projects. What used to take days or weeks with outdated spreadsheets, can be accomplished with AFT's pipe flow software in a short amount of time.

Engineers can then easily transition their steady-state models to AFT Impulse to proactively analyse the systems for surge issues.

AFT Arrow, AFT’s steady-state compressible flow modelling tool, is a popular product in the Northern UK where is it is used on power generation facilities and processing plants.

Safety and education

All AFT products are nuclear validated. Iconic Simulation can provide Nuclear Verification and Validation packages to confirm the Commercial Grade Dedication process.

Finally, Roger and Iconic Simulations will also have extended reach to utilise AFT educational programmes to provide free flow analysis licenses to students and professors within universities who are completing innovative engineering research.
