EUROPIPE to provide pipes for Egypt’s Zohr project

The EUROPIPE GmbH will be delivering 132 000 t (227 km) of thick walled offshore large diameter pipes, measuring 26 in. dia. (660 mm) for the development of the Zohr gas field located off Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline.
The order was booked by Salzgitter Mannesmann International GmbH, a trading subsidiary of the Group. The large diameter pipes that are scheduled for delivery from May to December 2016. EUROPIPE's shareholders are to supply the input material for manufacturing the large diameter pipes.
Together with other recently booked orders such as Nord Stream 2 and TAP onshore/offshore this will secure a good basic capacity utilisation until mid 2018.

When the tanks are full, the liquefied carbon dioxide will be loaded onto a dedicated carrier from Royal Wagenborg and shipped to the INEOS Nini platform in the Danish North Sea. From there, it will be safely injected via pipeline into subsurface reservoirs approximately 1800 m beneath the seabed for permanent storage.
