Two new directors appointed at Sempra Energy

Sempra Energy has appointed two new members, Andrés Conesa and Bethany Jean Mayer, to its board of directors, which has brought its number of board members to 13.

While Mayer is President, CEO and a member of the board of directors of Ixia, Conesa is CEO of Grupo Aeromexico.

Mayer has served in her current role with Ixia since 2014. Between 2010 and 2014, she held a variety of leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of its network functions virtualisation business. From 2007 to 2010, Mayer was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Corporate Development, of Blue Coat Systems. She has also held management roles at Cisco Systems, Apple and Lockheed Martin.

Conesa has been Grupo Aeromexico's CEO since 2005. Between 2003 and 2005, he was the Chairman of the board of directors of CINTRA (the holding company of Aeromexico and Mexicana). He has also spent seven years serving in Mexico's Ministry of Finance, including as Deputy Undersecretary for Public Credit from 2003 to 2004.
