World Pipelines,
The Access Northeast pipeline project – being developed by the National Grid, Spectra Energy and Eversource Energy – intends to expand its natural gas line by an additional 27 miles, from Milford to Worcester.
This expansion is said to ensure and provide a reliable and secure energy supply to the northeast.
"We believe that the project will benefit the northeast by making available additional supplies of natural gas, expand and improve pipeline transportation facilities which are necessary to support the needs of regional power generators and natural gas customers, and address the growing demand for clean-burning natural gas," stated Franklin Gessner, ROW Project Manager for Algonquin.
This proposed project is still in the “very preliminary stages,” as explained by Spectra Spokeswoman Marylee Hanley, though the company estimates its completion between 2018 and 2020.
