Iraq demands Kurdish financial agreement

According to Reuters, Iraq will not continue pumping crude to Turkey through a Kurdish pipeline until the country makes a financial agreement with the Kurdish government.

State-run North Oil Company usually supplies 150 000 bpd through the pipeline to the Ceyhan terminal. As stated by Reuters, the Iraqi oil minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, outlined ‘two options’ for supply to continue: a return to the earlier agreement between Iraq and the Kurdish Regional Government, which would see the country receive 17% of federal budget. Alternatively, a new agreement could be drawn up.
