World Pipelines,
Geo Oceans has successfully completed a contract providing 6 weeks of continuous 24 hr/d ROV support for subsea pipeline decommissioning operations for Vale in New Caledonia.
The project involved operating ROVs from a construction barge providing day and night ROV visual guidance for crane operators to remove 3.6 km of subsea pipeline in 40 - 60 m of water.
The ROV teams also provided visual guidance and touchdown monitoring for an additional scope to lay approximately 300 concrete stabilisation blocks on an existing pipeline.
Geo Oceans had two ROV teams in the field managing and operating the Seabotix vLBV ROVs around the clock. The campaign was executed successfully within budget and on time.
